The Astromania 2 inch O-III Filter is a specialized narrowband optical filter designed to significantly enhance the contrast of diffuse, planetary, and extremely dim nebulae for both visual observation and astrophotography. This filter isolates the two doubly ionized oxygen lines (496nm to 501nm) emitted by nebulae, blocking most other wavelengths to create a blackened background of space. This makes faint objects like the Veil, Ring, Dumbbell, and Orion nebulae much more visible. It is made from high-grade glass with dichroic interference and anti-reflection coatings. The standard 2-inch barrel diameter ensures compatibility with any brand of telescope and 2-inch eyepieces.
